Mr Marston

Year 11 Assembly Friday 12th March 2021

It has been fantastic to welcome Year 11 back into the school building recently.  We’ve all been really impressed by their enthusiasm and their focus on moving forward.

As you know, GCSE and BTEC examinations have been cancelled this year, with schools being asked to provide teacher assessed grades for each student in each subject instead.  The government released initial information about this at the start of the month and we expect them to update us with further detail at the end of the month.  As soon as this becomes available, we will share it with you.  On Friday, Mr Marston spoke to Year 11 to reassure them about what happens next Mr Marston told Year 1 students that:

·        Between now and Easter teachers will recap and consolidate what you’ve already learnt

·        Before Easter we will share the grade we think you have achieved so far

·        You will have plenty of time to improve your grade and we will use the time after Easter to give you opportunities to do this

·        You will not sit any public exams and the work you do to improve your grade will be in your classroom and marked by your teachers

So, on Wednesday next week look out for a message from us sharing the grades achieved so for in each subject.  Please be assured that we will do all we can to help every student produce the best evidence to demonstrate their ability.  The most important thing each of them can do now is to continue to show 100% commitment to every lesson, every day.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
