Bradgate Secondary Schools 2023
GCSE & BTEC Exam Results
Students at both Wreake Valley and Roundhill will be excitedly opening their results this morning. These year groups have had a much disrupted and turbulent time during their secondary education but can be proud of the results they receive today. They are the result of efforts that started back in primary school and have continued with their secondary teachers and support from parents and families. Most of all, they are a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the young people themselves.
The picture of performance nationally will become clear over the next few days as results have been pinned back to the grade boundaries from 2019. Wreake Valley has seen really strong results with well in excess of 66% of students achieving 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including English and Maths).
At Roundhill that figure stands at an impressive 70% of students, with the average grade for all students in all subjects at Roundhill being a grade 5 or above, up from an average of a 4 at both schools previously.
Both schools have seen some stand out performers achieving incredible results;
Neve from Roundhill achieved a distinction* (the highest grade in BTEC), 5 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7 and Jake who also achieved a Distinction * as well as 4 Grade 9s and 5 Grade 8s.
Ansh from Wreake was successful in gaining 6 Grade 9s, 3 Grades 8s and a Grade 6.
Careen also from Wreake achieved 4 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and a Grade 7.
Kiyan from Roundhill achieved 7 Grade 9s, a Grade 8 and 2 Grade 7s.
Fiona also from Roundhill has successfully gained a Distinction* as well as 7 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and a Grade 6.
Emily from Wreake achieved 5 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 and 1 Grade 5.
Tanya also from Wreake achieved 2 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s, 3 Grade 7s and 1 Grade 6.
We look forward to continuing to work with many of these incredible young people at the Bradgate Sixth Form which continues to go from strength to strength. In two years time many of these students will be picking up A level and vocational results which will see them continue to progress into higher education, the world of work or the continued training and apprenticeships that are on offer.
To everyone collecting results today, well done and good luck in the next stage of your lives, it has been a pleasure working with you.
