Transition Information

Important information for our Welcome Days & Welcome Evening 2024

  • Students should come directly to Wreake, they should not go to their Primary school first.
  • On both days students are expected to be on the school site at 8.30am ready to start the day at 8.35am. Students should come to the Year 7 area in front of Reception at the front of the school. Staff will be there from 8.15am to greet students and direct them to where they need to line up.
  • If you are dropping your child off please be aware that the carpark is extremely busy at this time of day and there is no onsite carparking available. Please ensure that your child knows the arrangements that you have made for them to get home.
If you are meeting your child please wait outside the school gates.

Transition Information 2024

Parents of Year 6 pupils across the country will find out on Friday 1st March which Secondary School their child has been allocated a place at.  This information will be sent to you by email from Leicestershire County Council or Leicester City Council to the email address that you put on the Admissions form you submitted online last October.

Week commencing 4th March Bradgate Secondary Schools – The Roundhill Academy and Wreake Valley Academy – will contact you to by email with a Welcome letter, which will give details of our Transition Programme.

This year to help make the Transition process as simple and seamless as possible for parents as well as pupils, we are holding a Transition Information Evening in March at each school.

The evening will allow you to meet key members of staff.  We will talk you through what to expect from us; both in terms of Transition and when your child’s starts with us in August.  We will explain the importance of the information that we will collect from you and from your child’s primary school and how we use this information to put our tutor groups together.  We will also inform  you about Uniform and where to purchase this.
